How It Works?

A chemical skin peel works by applying a chemical solution to the skin’s surface, which carefully works to remove the outer layers. The amount of skin removed varies dependent upon which chemical is used, how long the product is left on the skin, and the strength of the product. While some chemical peels are superficial, removing only the epidermal layer, other stronger chemical peels penetrate a much deeper dermal layer to treat more severe skin effects.

The Chemical Skin Peel Procedure

Before application, the skin must be exfoliated to ensure it is in a healthy condition to achieve optimum results. The chemical solution will then be applied to the skin, which usually takes around 20 minutes. After the procedure you will experience a light reddening, with your skin beginning to peel within 2 to 3 days following application. After your skin has finished peeling you will notice an immediate improvement, and your skin will continue to improve for the next 3 to 6 weeks dependent upon chosen treatment.
